Hoards of fans of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival have confessed to not knowing who headliners The Stone Roses are.
The line-up for the California festival, which takes place over two weekends in April (12-14 April and 19-21 April), was announced earlier today. The Stone Roses are co-headlining the opening night alongside Blur.
Following the announcement, hosts of people took to Twitter to ask who The Stone Roses are, leading to the creation of a Tumblr blog, called Who Are The Stone Roses?, which has collated a number of the confused tweets from American fans of the festival, such as:
The annual US event marks The Stone Roses first American gigs since reforming in 2012.
Also performing on the Friday of the festival will be Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Johnny Marr, Lou Reed, Modest Mouse and Jake Bugg.
Phoenix will be the festival's second headliner, appearing on a bill which also includes The xx, Postal Service, Sigur Ros, New Order, Hot Chip, Grizzly Bear, Two Door Cinema Club, Biffy Clyro, Foals and Franz Ferdinand.
The third and final Coachella headliner for 2013 will be Red Hot Chili Peppers. The veteran rockers will close the festival on both weekends, topping a bill which also includes Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Vampire Weekend, Jessie Ware, Tame Impala, James Blake and Grimes.
As expected, The Rolling Stones will not be appearing at the festival. Speaking to NME exclusively to deny the rumours linking the band to the festival, Mick Jagger said: "We're not gonna do Coachella, 'cos it's too early. There was a rumour we were gonna do that one, but it's very early, Coachella. It's April or something, isn’t it? And we're not gonna be ready to go by April. But we're not gonna stop."

코첼라 페스티벌의 마지막은 레드 핫 칠리 페퍼스가 장식하게 되었으며 닉 케이브 앤 더 배드 시즈, 뱀파이어 위켄드, 제시 웨어, 테임 임팔라, 제임스 블레이크와 그림스가 함께 한다.
예상했듯이 롤링 스톤즈는 페스티벌에는 참여하지 않는다. NME지와의 인터뷰에서 믹 재거는 이번 페스티벌 참여에 관한 루머에 대해 부인하며, "아직 좀 이르다고 생각되서 코첼라에는 참여하지 않는다. 코첼라에 간다는 소문이 있었는데 너무 이르다. 4월인가 그렇지 않은가? 4월까지는 준비가 덜 되있을 것이다. 그러나 멈추지는 않을 것"이라고 말했다.
